Zuckerberg’s 2019 resolution may prove challenging too. Instead of focusing only on Facebook’s problems, he wants to talk more about broader societal issues facing the entire technology industry.

In a note posted to his Facebook page Tuesday, Zuckerberg said he intends to “host a series of public discussions about the future of technology in society,” featuring a mix of “leaders, experts, and people in our community from different fields.”

Previously, the Instagram API was limited to scheduling single-image posts, not yet allowing third-party tools to schedule videos or multi-image posts. Now, these tools – mainly social media management apps – can add the ability to schedule video posts to Instagram without having to use the “smartphone workaround”, the age-old process of getting a mobile alert from a social media management app when it’s time to post, and then having to manually post the video via the Instagram app.

? Nogle fordele ved at Twitter har genindført kronologi

With Twitter being a leader in real-time and breaking news, I think this change is one of the few the social platform has made that’s actually helpful. It’s now easier to jump into conversations as they’re happening, something that many social media platforms are looking to prioritize. It’s also gold for those of us who live on Twitter during sports matches, and for breaking news events it’s ideal.

Older Americans are disproportionately more likely to share fake news on Facebook, according to a new analysis by researchers at New York and Princeton Universities. Older users shared more fake news than younger ones regardless of education, sex, race, income, or how many links they shared. In fact, age predicted their behavior better than any other characteristic — including party affiliation.

?️ Podcasting-tendenser i 2019

Det handler blandt andet om pengene i podcasting – og bemærk, at det primært er set fra et amerikansk synspunkt:

In the IAB’s second annual podcast advertising revenue study, published last June, the self-reported numbers pegged ad revenue to around $257.4 million for 2017, and estimated the wider market to be around $313.9 million. (Whether that’s a conservative estimate is up to you to mull over. I’ve heard execs argue both ways.) Those 2017 numbers beat the IAB’s earlier projection of $220 million for the year, and it’s up from $119 million in self-reported revenues the previous year.

“This case study further confirms the ongoing shift away from using push purely for breaking news, a movement we had already observed last year. ?? Hyperlokal i Tyskland

“Every student we spoke with had the same canned answer: I read the Wall Street Journal, and I read it because I feel like I have to—because its a prerequisite to stay well-read in business—but it’s dense, dry and I don’t have enough time in my day to read it cover to cover.”

But the bigger risk comes from powerful developers such as Epic Games Inc., maker of the wildly popular Fortnitevideo game franchise.
