? Brugen af Facebook falder
According to new survey data from the Pew Research Center (June 2018), a substantial number of Facebook users (42 percent) have stepped back from daily activity and engagement. This stands in marked contrast to a March Pew survey that found 74 percent of users visited daily and most of them (51 percent) went to the site multiple times a day.
? Sociale medier skaber ikke ekkokamre
Intet taler for at sociale medier placerer os alle i ekkokamre. Det mener forsker Erik Gahner Larsen, der her kaster lys over en stribe undersøgelser af påstanden.
? Facebook tester links i ‘Stories’
“Many people come to Facebook to share and have conversations about articles that interest them. So, we’re testing the ability to share links in Stories, just like you can on News Feed.”
? Video: 5 best-practice-tips fra Facebook
- Create Habitual and Loyal Viewership
- Respond to comments and questions
- Share the link to your content on all of your properties and social channels
- Consider how people might use Facebook search to find your video content.
- Be Aware of Facebook’s Guidelines
? 5 nye muligheder med Instagram Stories
…ooog vi tager lige én til liste:
- Questions stickers
- Music stickers
- Shoppable tags
- Sharing feed posts in Stories
- Carousel ads
? ‘Stories” flytter annonce-pengene til Instagram
The rapid growth and consumption of Instagram Stories has made it hard for advertisers to ignore, even if they have reservations over whether they can match the high-end, premium content on the platform. Spending is shifting to Instagram, with brands like Smirnoff, Nike and Stella Artois starting to spend more money on the vertical video format.
? Rygte: Instagram på vej med shopping-app
Instagram is working on a new standalone app dedicated to shopping, The Verge has learned. The app — which may be called IG Shopping — will let users browse collections of goods from merchants that they follow and purchase them directly within the app, according to two people familiar with the matter. Instagram declined to comment.
? Skepsis overfor Facebooks ‘microtargeting’
But microtargeting, as the technique is called, is coming under increased scrutiny in the United States and Europe. Some government officials, researchers and advertising executives warn that it can be exploited to polarize and manipulate voters. And they are calling for restrictions on its use in politics, even after Facebook, in response to criticism, recently limited some of the targeting categories available to advertisers.
? Twitter blokerer InfoWars og manden bag
After weeks of equivocation, Twitter permanently suspended the accounts of Infowars and its founder Alex Jones on Thursday, following similar moves by other large tech companies, including Apple, Facebook, YouTube, and Spotify.
? Twitter testede personaliserede “unfollow”-forslag
The test ran for just a few days, was visible to a small fraction of users, and has now concluded, the spokesperson said. The company declined to comment on whether the company considers the test to have been successful or whether the feature might resurface at some point.
↩️ Twitter tester nye designs på svar
To clarify, none of these are anywhere near final yet – Twitter’s only testing different options for now. But they are looking at these, and other related options, which are designed to better emphasize tweet engagement.
?️ Nye Snap-briller
For Snap’s die-hard fans, the new designs usher in a sleeker, more stylish era of Spectacles. But for Snap’s critics, the new hardware doesn’t quite square. Many of the target market has long since traded Snapchat for Instagram and think the idea of wearing a face camera seems ridiculous, which begs the question: Why is Snap still making hardware?
Best known for coining the phrase “net neutrality” and his book The Master Switch: The Rise and Fall of Information Empires, [Tim] Wu has a new book coming out in November called The Curse of Bigness: Antitrust in the New Gilded Age. In it, he argues compellingly for a return to aggressive antitrust enforcement in the style of Teddy Roosevelt, saying that Google, Facebook, Amazon, and other huge tech companies are a threat to democracy as they get bigger and bigger.
We tried out new tools from Facebook, Google and Twitter that let you look up campaign ads. Here’s what the databases can — and cannot — do.
? MEDIER /TENDENSER
Tænk radioavisen “on demand” indenfor forskellige områder.
? Kommercielle interesser øger målinger i podcasts
On Sept. 6, companies from NPR and Westwood One to How Stuff Works gathered at the fourth annual IAB Podcast Upfront. But in contrast with past events, where the emphasis was on content, this time presenters focused on products like targeted marketplaces, attribution and retargeting tools to attract brand advertisers, who have mostly ignored podcasting because of the medium’s measurement issues.
?️ Videnskab.dk vil indføre parameter for troværdighed
? Status hos Axios: 11,8 millioner unikke og 360k nyhedsbrevsabonnenter
“Everything is created using our distinct editorial best practices,” Meissner said. “We are vigilant about A/B testing everything, and we make sure to provide frequent, customised reporting to all our brand partners. By doing this, we’ve grown very substantially over the past 18 months.”
In that first year-and-a-half of business, Axios has grown to 11.8 million monthly unique visitors, 80 million monthly page views, and 360,000 newsletter subscribers.
? Hvad virker, når medier skal sælge abonnementer?
A new report from the Center for Media Engagement at the University of Texas at Austin, written by Natalie Stroud, Yujin Kim, and Jessica Collierstudied different ways news organizations proffer themselves to potential subscribers through the lens of paid Facebook ads promoting their subscriptions.

? Læs om afløseren for StumbleUpon
Building your brand online is a necessity in the digital age. Whether you are applying for a journalism post, funding for your next project, or simply trying to grab an editor’s attention, providing examples of your work is an invaluable way to prove your worth.
? Walt Disney Studios’ nye R&D-lab på 20 personer
On the first floor of The Walt Disney Studios’ Animation building — two floors below Walt Disney’s old office — sits Disney’s StudioLab, the epicenter of the company’s investment in emerging technologies.
The digital-first series ‘Posts to the Pope’ was shot, edited and titled entirely on mobile devices for social audiences, then repurposed to 16:9 for ‘traditional’ viewing
? Holocaust-museum eksperimenterer med Augmented Reality
Aiming to capture and hold the attention of young students, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum has launched a smartphone app that allows visitors to view a museum exhibit in augmented reality.
? MEDIER /BUSINESS
? Hårdt halvår for aviserne
? Begrænset kundeinteresse i mikrobetalinger

? Sådan gentænkte The Guardian deres indholds-studio
Last spring, the Guardian remodeled its content studio Labs to align more closely with the rest of the newsroom, in order to make its campaign output more efficient. The goal: to remain competitive in a consistently cluttered paid content market and increase its financial contribution to the publisher on its road back into the black.
? 2018 kommer til at handle om at holde på kunderne
Axel Springer newspaper Die Welt found that half of its new subscribers were leaving in the first three months, according to a report on subscriber churn by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, released Aug. 22. After this period, the churn rate dropped to between 1 and 2 percent a month.
? MEDIER /UDVIKLING
Her får du et kig på nogle af ugens historier indenfor den digitale udvikling og teknologi, der enten direkte eller indirekte kan have betydning for medier/udgivere.
? Virtual Reality er i krise
According to analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC), global shipments of virtual reality (VR) headsets were down about 34 percent year over year in the second quarter. The company put a brave face on the decline, saying, “IDC expects this to be a temporary setback as the VR market finds its legs.”
Thanks to new ways of using blockchain technology in publishing, authors can bypass authorities when reporting uncomfortable truth. But the absence of fact-checkers can take disinformation to a whole new level
___
? Det skal annoncører vide om blockchain
The advertising industry faces many challenges — from fraud and lack of transparency to antiquated payment models. But blockchain technology will soon solve these challenges, rewriting the future of adtech.
? Derfor bør du designe til “mikro-øjeblikke”
In Google’s never-ending journey to make the web a mobile-friendly place, we now have even greater insights into the four key reasons why consumers reach for their mobile devices. These are known as micro-moments, and this post aims to teach you how to design for micro-moments to increase website conversion rates.
That’s not to say that other phone makers copied Apple; most phones are in production for many months before they ship to consumers. […] But Apple still has the uncanny ability to set the tone for what premium phones will look like in any given year, whether that means “notches” at the top of our phones or new gesture-based UIs that have us all swiping screens instead of tapping home buttons.
? Spotify har et adblocker-problem
Spotify reported ahead of its IPO that it estimated 2 million people are blocking ads via modified apps or accounts. That’s about 1 percent of Spotify’s total monthly active users and about 2 percent of its ad-supported monthly active users.
While ad blockers are a small percentage of those using the services, Spotify has been working more to curb the activity.
? Ny bog om designprocessen hos Apple
Today, former Apple engineer Ken Kocienda’s book Creative Selection, which covers his career at Apple and insights about the company’s software design process, was released. As an engineer at Apple, Kocienda worked on several high-profile projects including Safari on the Mac and the touch keyboards on the iPhone and iPad. Much of the publicity surrounding the book focuses on Kocienda’s work on the iPhone.
