👍 SOCIALE MEDIER

Facebook has finally made good on its promise to let users unsend chats after TechCrunch discovered Mark Zuckerberg had secretly retractedsome of his Facebook Messages from recipients. Today Facebook Messenger globally rolls out “Remove for everyone” to help you pull back typos, poor choices, embarrassing thoughts or any other message.

We took a look back at Facebook’s 15 years for the 15 moments that made the company what it is today and that signaled, sooner than most realized, what it would become.

Why only 10 on its 15th birthday? Recently, we discovered an error in our internal metrics that may have overstated the number of items on this list. We are very sorry for anyone affected; we take any mistake seriously.

The Information

Facebook this month will add a feature to its app and website that lets users see how their contact information is used for ad targeting. Users on Feb. 28 can activate the new Custom Audiences featureby clicking on the “Why am I seeing this?” button in the drop-down menu on posts, TechCrunch reported.

🎬 ‘The Social Network’ var mere spot-on, end vi vidste

Now, nearly a decade later and 15 years into the life of Facebook, I think I’ve realized something: The Social Networkwas right. Not necessarily historically accurate—only the people who were in the room know those truths—but about its messages: privacy matters (whether you’re taking photos from a sorority web site or giving access to user data), connection comes with consequences, the tech boom gave an enormous amount of power to people who’d never touched it before.

❤️ Sådan fungerer Tinder-algoritmen

Essentially, the app uses an Elo rating system, which is the same method used to calculate the skill levels of chess players: You rise in the ranks based on how many people swipe right on (“like”) you, but that’s weighted based on who the swiper was. The more right swipes that person had, the more their right swipe on you means for yourscore.

🎙️ Spotify køber Gimlet Media

The music streaming service today confirmed that it has snapped up two podcast networks — Gimlet and Anchor — in undisclosed deals. But that’s not all, the firm said it has plans to spend a further $400-$500 million “on multiple acquisitions in 2019” to get even deeper into the space.

🛑 Gmail blokerer yderligere 100 mio. spam-mails om dagen via TensorFlow

As early as 2015, it’s claimed to block 99.9 percent of spam, phishing, and malware from reaching accounts with the help of artificial neural networks (layers of math functions loosely modeled after neurons in the brain), all while ensuring the share of legitimate mail that inadvertently ends up in spam folders stays below 0.05 percent. […] And now Google says that, thanks in part to “new protections” powered by its open source machine learning framework TensorFlow, it’s blocking around 100 million additional spam messages every day.
